Randall’s nine years at Yelp



Say hello to Randall, an IT Technician! Randall’s#FiveStarCareerjourney began in 2013 when he was hired as a contractor in the Phoenix office. During that time, he fell in love with theculture and people at Yelp, and he thought it would be awesome to find a full-time role on our team. In September 2014, he was hired on our Workplace Services team, where he would go on to work for the four years that followed. He later transitioned to the IT team as a Logistics Coordinator, and now, as he celebrates his 9th Yelpiversary, he is an IT Technician.

What does a typical day look like in your role?

My day starts by going through emails and Helpdesk tickets. My team is in charge of sending new hire kits to our newest employees, and we spend a lot of time packing, boxing, and maintaining equipment to make sure our folks have the best first-day experience possible. We handle most break/fix laptop replacements and equipment orders, as well.

What is your favorite part of the work that you do?

I love helping people with their IT needs. When someone is having tech issues, it can ruin their day. It’s always rewarding to hear that we were able to find a solution or get someone the equipment they need so that they can quickly get back to work!

Tell us about a project that you are proud to have worked on

I am proud to have worked on a large equipment transition that impacted a majority of the company. From ordering all of the new equipment to imaging them and shipping them out, it was a huge responsibility to my team, and I am so proud of how smooth the process was.
