Yelp Chicago Burbs Elites Give Back for the Holidays!

Forty Elites gathered atNando’s Peri Periin Naperville this past December to celebrate the holiday season and supportToys for Tots. You could tell the amount of generosity by looking at the overflowing toy box by the end of the night. What a heartwarming sight!

Aside from spending time together, a highlight of the evening was Roy, the United States Marine Corps Reserve representative from the Toys for Tots Program. Roy welcomed us to their organization and taught us more about the program and what makes it special. He reminded us that every contribution matters, no matter how small. Cheers to that!

Yelp Elites indulged in a specially selected family style meal from Nando’s Peri Peri Naperville. The flame grilled, 24 hour marinated Peri-Peri chicken was the hit menu item of the night. The signature sauce was addicting for many and the choice of heat level made for some fun experimentation for our taste buds. The chicken platters were paired with seasonal sides and we topped it all off with naughty natas, a Portugese warmed tart for dessert. Did we mention the satisfying wine and beer bar kept the night flowing? Yes, the sangria is a must-have.

We learned where the Peri Peri spice originates from, its benefits, and how it is the heart of Nando’s menu. Along with the importance of Peri Peri as an ingredient, we also learned what an essential role the growing process has on the company. Nando’s empowers close to 1,500 farmers by keeping this process local. The entire Nando’s team was knowledgeable about the products and the history behind them.

Elites spread the holiday spirit with their tacky sweaters and holiday getup. We ended the night with a friendly competition over holiday games. Prizes included gifts from local spots around the downtown Naperville area such asLauren Rae Jewelry Boutique,Sixty Four Wine Bar & Kitchen,Peace a Conscious Living Boutique,Sparrow Coffee, andC’zar Male Barber Lounge.

Giving back to your community doesn’t mean spending a lot of money or taking a lot of your time. For Yelp Elites, it meant gathering with friends, enjoying flavorful bites, and gifting a toy to help out a child less fortunate this year. We’re proud of our community and enjoy spreading the love where we can.
