As a way to celebrate Women’s History Month, we brought the Yelp Elite Squad to witness history in the making at the newLa Verdad Cafe! This small cafe in Buffalo’s East Side neighborhood is making huge strides, not only in delicious dishes, but in revitalizing the community as well.
Vivian, the owner of La Verdad, offered up small-scale versions of her most popular menu items. These included the CMSI – smoked pulled pork macaroni & cheese with nacho chips and salsa, smoked chicken, garbanzo dip, and the Stretchmark – smoked beef, macaroni & cheese, and kale slaw on a mini-roll. We spotted many of our Yelp Elite going back for seconds, thirds…it was very easy to tell, just by first bite, how delicious the food is!
During the event, we encouraged Yelp Elites to celebrate the women in their lives. With hand-printed postcards from the localWNY Book Arts Center, guests had the chance to write special notes to the awesome ladies they know and love!
As a special guest, Buffy of BuffaloCitybrationmade an appearance at the cafe, looking absolutely fabulous as our Yelp Elite posed for pictures in celebration of the event, of Women’s History Month, and of the awesome ladies of Buffalo!
