We kicked off our 2019 Yelp Rochester Elite Event lineup with a tasting and tour at Living Roots Wine & Co., Rochester’s first urban winery. Owners, Sebastian and Colleen, shared the story behind their business and Seb’s family history in Australia’s winemaking industry. They have a unique approach, showcasing wine from both the Finger Lakes and Australian harvest seasons. The guests sampled their sparking Riesling, Linden Blossom dry Riesling, Eastern Redbud dry rosé, Woodland Cherry cabernet franc, Sandstone Tannat Shiraz, and Blackwoods Shiraz in their private tasting room, The Vault. As we progressed on the tour, we learned about how they process the grapes to make the wine and about some upcoming releases, including a pét-nat, which got the whole group excited!
