Yelp’s CiderFest in Winthrop, ME

A cool, overcast autumn day amidst foliage was the perfect backdrop for Yelp’s CiderFest at Kennebec Cider Company in Winthrop, ME where the Yelp Elite Squad recently got to spend an afternoon exploring the world of locally crafted cider, a longtime Maine tradition. Donned in plaid shirts and jeans, guests took an intimate tour of the grounds – which included a duck pond, the orchard, and gardens – led by owners Nathan and Megan Hall. Afterwards they headed back into the barn to sample the entire line-up of KCC’s options paired with locally sourced cheeses. Ciders included a Traditional option, Quince, Summer Berry, Blueberry, and the never before released La Pomme Rouge (a tart, blush colored cider that’s been aged for two years and features Niedzwetzkyana, wild Crab apples, and Winekist [said to be a native variety of the town the cidery is located in]). It was eating and drinking seasonally at its absolutely most organic. The event was captured beautifully thanks to both Remick Photography and the attendees, so be sure to look through both thePhotosandReviewsfor a little fallspiration!
