These special outings happen every month in 30+ countries and bring together local community members to experience some of the best local businesses. Often these events serve up bites at a new restaurant or some sips at a trendy cocktail bar, but every now and then the Community Manager (read: Yelp superhero) comes up with one hell of a wacky event. An Elite has been murdered. Don’t worry, it’s all pretend. Elites got their sleuthing on and uncovered clues to find the murderer during this fun, murder mystery show style event.
Yelp’s Hard Hat Tour–Andi P(Orlando)
Talk about VIP. A select group of Elites were treated to a hard hat tour of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as it was being built!
Florida Fall Break (Yelp-O-Scream)–Brett N(Tampa Bay)
For the first time ever five Florida Yelp communities got together for an incredible weekend’s worth of events. It all kicked off at Busch Gardens where they enjoyed the annual Howl-O-Scream Halloween attraction (fast passes and sips included).
Lumberjack-Off–Kris U(Greater Toronto)
Lumbersexual is a real thing – and there’s nothing sexier than craft beer, pizza, plaid and axe throwing! Elites competed in an all out axe throwing tournament to crown a lumberjack champ.
Freaking Antiquing–Jonathan T(Twin Cities)
When Elites take over an antique store you get an awesome scavenger hunt, unique food and drink vendors and hip hop karaoke!
Yelp’s Traincation–Lauryn C(NC Triangle),Nikki W(Charlotte),Holly K(Triad)

Yelp Goes Back To School–Michelle C(Philadelphia)
Elites were invited to Drexel University’s Center for Hospitality for an educational learning experience on the different facets of the hospitality industry. The classes ended in the best possible way: a cocktail party.
London’s Worst Game Show Ever–Alex S(London)
The worst game show ever actually ended up being a pretty awesome event! With horrible homemade decorations, cheesy music, over-the-top clothing and blatant cheating, Elites got to bring a game show to life. Oh, and it all took place inside a church!
The Omelette Disco–Philippine W(Amsterdam)
After a long night of partying, there’s nothing like some breakfast in the AM. Elites switched it up, when they turned a breakfast spot into an all out disco.
Real Actors Read Yelp Reviews–Rachel C(Pittsburgh)
Elites bring the funny! This event was split up into: stand-up comedy, improv games and musical comedy. In between the performances, the actors dramatically read local Yelp reviews to an uproarious crowd!
Penguin Playdate–Morgan F(New Orleans)
Elites brought along their lil’ Yelpers and enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas where they came face-to-face with penguins.
Beer Brewing For Elites–Agnes L(Stockholm)
Can you say you’ve brewed your own beer? The lucky elites in Stockholm can! Taking the lead from the brewmaster, elites learned all about the brewing process and then made their own craft beer, that was served at the bar when it was ready.
Get Down At Up Down–Adam S(Kansas City)
At a beer centric barcade, Elites competed in a scavenger hunt with skeeball, Contra, Mario and more. The winning teams took home prizes!
Yelp的Taste-cation–Nate M(Las Vegas)
Elites in Las Vegas closed out 2014 with an epic 24-hour event. The overnight stay at the SLS Hotel consisted of everything from sampling menus at the restaurants in the hotel to VIP bottle service at the nightclub LiFe.
Yelp Games–Blue A(Broward-Palm Beach)
The Yelp version of Supermarket Sweep! Elites took over Whole Foods Market, playing games such as: fruit weighing, cake decorating (and eating), sushi making, and even a dog treat eating challenge.
